Kanakavalli Kanjivaram Silk Sari 21-599-HS001-02717

This sari is from Kanakavalli’s Reiya collective that have undergone a series of hand processes to soften and age the drape. It is marked by age-muted zari, and a sumptuous bodied but butter soft hand feel.

This beautiful kanjivaram sari in bottle green is handwoven with self jacquard patterns, highlighted by chakaram enclosing iruthalai pakshi motifs in gold zari, dotted on the body. The broad border has mayil(peacock), twill and rudraksham patterns in gold zari; while the small border has twill and rudraksham patterns in gold zari. The pallu features a stylised leaf pattern edged by parakkum kuthirai(winged horse), mayil, rudraksham, twil, thazhampoo reku(temple) and geometric motifs in gold zari.
